Private Blog Networks or PBNs have a vilified reputation of being “black hat SEO” but this is a poor way of looking at an SEO tool still used by many just by other names. Hits: 3

Visit Search Engine Ranking: Website Ranking Keywords Backlinks And All for the whole story
In several previous articles we’ve covered: Domain Auditing, Page Speed And SEO, Backlinks and even some less than white hat techniques such as Private Blog Networks, Guest Posts and more.  All of these are cogs in the greater overall machine which is Search Engine Optimization or SEO.  To you and any other website owner it is Search Engine Position Ranking.    In this article we’re going to look more holistically at the sum of the parts and how it fits together. Search Engine Marketing Vs Search Engine Optimization SEO is not Search Engine Marketing, or SEM. It is closely related but very different.  In the end both mean to drive relevant traffic to a site but in different, often at odds means.  SEM includes Pay Per Click or PPC traffic, but can also include more paid traffic channels. I’d argue that a good SEM landing page is an awful SEO landing[Find Out More]

Almost everyone has heard of the importance of site speed, even the average blogger with lackluster technical skills. In a previous article we did a comparison between two domains and found speed was the likely signal pushing one site above another in mobile searches. Google wants to provide sites that users will actually use. You may have the absolute best content but if it takes over 3 seconds to load your page its a big problem for ranking. Each 1 second delay reduces page views by 11% Each 1 second delay decreases customer satisfaction by 16% Each 1 second delay decreases 7% of conversion rate For a store doing $100,000 a day a 1 second delay means $2.5 million in lost sales. Google uses page load speed to help determine your sites rank. CDNs are great resources to speed up your page speed load times. Think of it like this[Find Out More]

Visit AWS Vs. Digital Ocean: Costs, Performance, Features For Cloud Computing | Clear Winner for the whole story
Why I Made The Switch To Digital Ocean And You Should Too After a year of ballooning costs I stumbled across Digital Ocean an figured I’d try their $5 VPS server and compare it to my Amazon Web Services experience. Astonishing… Digital Ocean quickly grabbed my attention with the straight forward ease of use. I had a working cPanel server in less than 20 minutes. They make the entry into Cloud Computing easy with a 1 CPU 1 GB Ram server that has 25GB SSD and 1000GB Transfer …. also included was 2 external IP Addresses and the Ability to create a firewall protecting my servers. That cost $5 a month. Jaw dropping I exclaim the AWS price is $5 just for the two IP addresses! I should have made an apples to apples comparison but at that moment I was off. My AWS Configuration And Cost: 2 t2.medium 2[Find Out More]

Comments Off on Cloud Computing: Digital Ocean vs Google Cloud vs AWS

This may seem off topic but its on topic, technical SEO is imperative … you’re not going to rank number one on Google using Shopify or Wix.  It just isnt going to happen. Its also apparently difficult to get solid advice on SEO Hosting from “experts” Best Blog Hosting for SEO is junk … reciting features doesnt make a hosting plan the best…one quote notes that WordPress is already installed with InMotionHosting.com … so what!  Our web servers are preconfigured to install WordPress in every new account as well…it only saves maybe 5 minutes per user but for a web host that time adds up very quickly. But you arent a web host so it’s not that big of a deal.  I’d like to hear about benchmarking tests they may have run to decide who is the best. Features Aren’t Technical Specs Unlimited bandwidth…sounds great but what are the limits?  There […]

Comments Off on Easiest Tools To Speed Up WordPress Site Load Times For SEO

In a previous post we noted the difference speed can make in search engine ranking.  The same content delivered in different ways was listed on the same domains but in different positions between desktop and mobile indexes.  Site Speed Affects Ranking In this post we’re going to review two less popular ways to speed up your site and we’ll mention the popular ways.  There’s a reason why Ultimate SEO uses slightly different processes for page load. Often people download plugin optimizers and add page cache plugins to speed up their sites.  Caching is important and serves as one of the best methods of speeding up a site, but there are several points in which you may decide to cache content and where you decide to make that choice does matter. Here are is a very simple diagram of a site and users who are asking that site for content.  In […]
